Monticello School Board RBS Design Group selected as architects for new middle/high school
SYLVIA MCGINNIS
News Reporter

RBS Design Group of Owensboro, Ky. will be the architects for the new

Monticello middle/high school, following action taken by the Monticello

Independent Board of Education during a special called meeting Monday

evening, April 25.

This decision came after board members heard presentations from three

different architects during their regular monthly meeting last week on

Tuesday, April 19.

During that meeting, members of the board heard presentations by RBS

Design Group as well as two Lexington-based firms, Evans and Murphy Design

Group and Ross-Tarrant Architects, Inc.

Following the presentations last Tuesday, the board decided to ask

representatives with RBS Design Group to come back to Monticello Monday

evening to answer questions from the board members.

On Monday, representatives discussed the proposed plans for the new

middle/high school building with the board and addressed the concerns that

the members had about the project.

After discussing the matter, board members decided Monday evening to

hire RBS Design Group as the architect for their middle/high school building

project.

Also during Mondayıs special called meeting board members moved their

meeting for next month from May 16 to May 23.

During their regular meeting on Tuesday, April 19, the board also set

the dates for the prom, baccalaureate and graduation. Prom will be held

Saturday, May 7.

Baccalaureate will be held Sunday, May 22 and graduation will be held

the following Friday, May 27.
