A criminal charge has been dropped against the woman who was suspected
to be an accomplice in a June 2004 bank robbery in Monticello.
According to court documents, the charge of complicity to commit robbery
has been dropped against Cindy Lee Anderson on Thursday, April 28.
Anderson had been arrested in Tennessee and transported to Wayne County
earlier in the week on the charge. She was lodged in the Wayne County
Detention Center until her release on Thursday.
Anderson was one of three suspects sought after the June 30, 2004
robbery of BB&T Bank in the Cumberland Crossing Shopping Center.
Following an investigation into that robbery, officials had issued
warrants for the arrest of Anderson, Ronald Wade, and Luther Self.
Andersonıs arrest warrant, filed last year, noted that she was living
with Wade, and noted that she fit the description of the person who was
driving the getaway car.
Wade was killed earlier this year near Dyersburg, Tennessee, after he
fled from officers following another bank robbery. Wade was originally from
the Russell Springs area.
The order entered last week stated that the charge against Anderson
would be dismissed without prejudice and that officials had decided ³not to
pursue any further prosecution.²
Anderson was apparently released from the Wayne County Detention Center
on Thursday, following the court appearance.
