JOHNNIE BURNETTE Nov. 22, 1935-June 16, 2005 Johnnie Burnette, age 69, of Wayne County, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2005 at home. He was born in the Griffin community of Wayne County, Ky. on November 22, 1935, the son of the late Rector and Beulah Burnette. He married Karen Lee Bell Burnette, who survives. He is also survived by nine sisters-Mary Kidd, Alta Lewis, Vela Burnette, Nancy Haynes, Betty Decker, Leta Piercy, Dovie Decker, Imogene Critchlow, Martha Neal; two brothers-Rector (Junior) Burnette Jr. and David Burnette. He was a farmer and he was a lifelong member and deacon of Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Robert Stinson and Bro. Douglas Kidd officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy should take the form of donations to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideon Memorial Bible Fund. Hickey & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
