GEORGE ODIE LAY Died July 27, 2005 George Odie Lay, age 72, of Monticello, Ky. passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at the Wayne County Hospital. He was born in the Raleigh Creek community of McCreary County, Ky., the son of the late Michael and Alice Ball Lay. He married Gracie Jones Lay who passed away, April 4, 1973. He later married Janice Berry Lay, who survives. He is also survived by two sons-William Leroy Lay and Roger Lay; one daughter-Shawnda Fulton; one sister-Rose Ethel Richmond of Pine Knot, Ky.; one brother-Vernon Lay of Pine Knot, Ky.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters-Ollie Belle Spradlin, Christene Martin, Arizona Perkins, and Corie Neal; and three brothers-Harrison, Harold, and Junior Lay. He had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of the Fall Creek United Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 30, 2005 at the Fall Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Dewey Burks and Bro. Clifford Slagle officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
