Lake Cumberland 5-mile run and 2-mile walk scheduled to be held Saturday, September 3 Saturday, September 3, 2005 is the date of the annual Lake Cumberland Race at the Monticello-Wayne County Memorial Park. The park is on Michigan Avenue (East Hwy. 92). Registration begins at 7 a.m. Eastern Daylight time; the race and walk will start at 8 a.m. The 5-mile run begins and ends at the park winding through residential neighborhoods. The 2-mile walk will be two loops of the parkıs fitness path. All participants, 18 and older, are eligible for the fabulous Conley Bottom Resort three night luxurious houseboat drawing. All participants are eligible for cash and door prize drawings which will be held after the race/walk. The ³lucky² persons must be present to win. Race T-shirts will be given to all runners and walkers. Age group awards for the 5-mile run include first place male and female overall, master, and grandmaster. Trophies will be given to age group first, second, and third place finishers. For the 5 miler the entry fee is $12.00 prior to August 26. After August 26 and the day of the race, the fee is $15.00. Entry fee for the 2-mile walk is $12.00. Proceeds from the race will be donated to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes/Anybodies. Make check payable to Lake Cumberland 5 Miler.
