An August 4 house fire in the Eadsville community has resulted in an

arson investigation. The blaze, which was reported at 10:29 p.m. Thursday,

August 4, heavily damaged the unoccupied home of David Prentice Southwood.

Fire Chief Steve Ferrell said that three rooms on the lower level of the

home were involved when firefighters arrived. His crew was on the scene

battling the blaze until approximately 1 a.m. Ferrell said three of his

firefighters became overheated during the fire and were treated on the scene

by Wayne County EMS.

Ferrell confirmed that the State Fire Marshallıs Office was contacted in

regard to the fire. He also noted that the Kentucky State Police are

currently investigating the cause of the fire. Kentucky State Police have

not commented on the investigation.
