Investigation continues into Eadsville house fire
Melodie Phelps
News Editor

An accelerant was used in a house fire that occurred in the Eadsville

community of Wayne County earlier this month, according to information from

Kentucky State Police Detective Henry Nunn.

Nunn is the lead investigator into the fire that heavily damaged the

unoccupied weekend home of David Prentice Southwood.

The fire began at about 10:29 p.m. on Thursday, August 4 and

firefighters were on the scene battling the blaze until about 1 a.m.,

according to Fire Chief Steve Ferrell.

During an interview last week, Nunn confirmed that the fire began on the

lower level of the home and that there were multiple points of origin. Nunn

said he visited the residence on Friday, August 5.

Nunn said there were apparently no witnesses to the incident, and he

indicated that there are currently no suspects. The investigation is

continuing.
