SERENA O. BURRIS March 4, 1927-Aug. 16, 2005 Serena O. Burris, age 78, of Frankfort, Ind. passed away August 16, 2005 in Witham Hospital in Lebanon, Ind. She was born March 4, 1927, in Wayne County, Ky. the daughter of Rubin Foster and Eliza "Frankie" Kidd Foster. She married Henry Rual Burris who preceded her in death January 21, 1975. She is survived by four sons-Jimmy Foster of Evansville, Ron Burris of Reagan, Darrell Burris of Indianapolis, and Jeff Burris of Frankfort; one step son-Kelly Burris of Kentucky; five daughters-Barbara Huffer of Kirklin, Joan Phillips of Frankfort, Katy Williams of Colfax, Nancy Lemen of Frankfort, and Marsha Cook of Frankfort; one sister-Wilda Dennis of Monticello, Ky.; 23 grandchildren; and 45 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, four brothers, three sisters, and one granddaughter. She worked several years for Peter Paul in Frankfort. She was a member of the auxillaries of Frankfort Eagles, VFW and American Legion. She attended Bible Holiness Church. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2005 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Mowery officiating. Burial was in the Greenlawn Cemetery.
