Tubing accident claims life of eight-year-old A tragic accident on Lake Cumberland has claimed the life of an eight-year-old Ohio girl. Chloe Barker, of Crooksville, Ohio, died from injuries she sustained on Saturday in the accident that occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the Normanšs Creek area of Lake Cumberland, which is near Conley Bottom. Barker and her father, Tad Barker, 34, were being pulled on a tube behind a boat. According to reports, when the boat turned, the tube struck rocks and the girl and her father were both ejected onto the bank. Both the girl and her father were transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital by helicopter. According to officials the eight-year-old girl died on the flight to Lexington. The Fayette County Coroneršs Office said the cause of death was blunt force head trauma. Officials said Tad Barker sustained broken legs and severe lacerations in the accident. No information about his condition was available at press time.
