One woman dies in auto accident Melodie Phelps News Editor A Clinton County woman died early Thursday morning, as the result of a one-vehicle accident in Wayne County. Joyce Scott, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at approximately 1:15 a.m. by Deputy Coroner Forrest Hicks. Wayne County Sheriff James Lynn Hill said the accident occurred at approximately 12:23 a.m. on West KY 90. Scott was traveling east when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a rock embankment on the south side of the highway. Hicks said the vehicle was extensively damaged and Scott suffered multiple injuries as a result of the impact. An autopsy was not performed, but Hicks said that toxicology samples were obtained and sent to the state lab for analysis. The accident occurred about a mile from the Clinton-Wayne County line, according to Hill. Hill said there were no witnesses to the crash and that his department is continuing to investigate the accident. Also responding to the scene was Wayne County EMS and the Monticello Fire Department.
