Mat Cardinals win McCreary tournament The Wayne County Wrestling Team traveled to McCreary Central High School on Tuesday, November 22 to compete in the Raider Dual Tournament. This was the season opener for the team. The tournament featured six teams: Franklin County, Whitley County, Letcher County Central, McCreary Central, Bourbon County, and Wayne County. The tournament format was a round robin with all teams wrestling each other. The Mat Cardinals finished the evening 5-0, to start the 2005-2006 season. The following are dual meet results and individual winners in each dual. A forfeit is scored 6-0. The Mat Cardinals will be in action at home on Saturday, December 3, when they host the Cardinal duals. Teams will include Louisville Fern Creek, Louisville St. Xavier, Ryle from Northern Kentucky, and regional teams Whitley County, McCreary Central, and Letcher County Central. The tournament will be a dual format. Starting time will be 10 a.m. at the Wayne County Gym. There is an admission charge. Add a comment |
