BESSIE G. BARNES May 25, 1917-Dec. 7, 2005 Bessie G. Barnes, age 88, of Frankfort, Ind. passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community. She was born May 25, 1917 in Wayne County, Ky., the daughter of the late Henry and Geneva G. Carroll Burris. In 1933 she married George Barnes who preceded her in death in June of 1989. She is survived by three sons-Rev. Paul Lewis Barnes of Monticello, Ky., Ray Barnes of Frankfort, Ind., and John Barnes of Frankfort, Ind.; two daughters-Ruth Byrd of Frankfort, Ind., and Janet Lois Baber of Kirklin, Ind.; two sisters-Ethel Mills and Ina Margaret Hughes both of Muncie, Ind.; 23 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son-Robert Lyle Barnes, one sister-Eliza West; four brothers-H. Rual Burris, Stanley H. Burris, Arnold A. Burris, and Charlie F. Burris. She retired from Home Hospital in Lafayette, Ind. She was a member of Bible Holiness Church. Funeral services were held Monday, December 12, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Bible Holiness Church in Frankfort, Ind. Burial was in Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bible Holiness Church at 1947 W. Barrier St., Frankfort, IN 46041. Goodwin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Add a comment |
