Keeley is charged with second degree arson

A local woman has been charged with second degree arson in connection

with a fire that destroyed a mobile home in the Morrow's Landing area.

Christina Ann Keeley, 23, of Morrow's Landing, was arrested on Tuesday,

December 27, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Department. Keeley's

arrest was the result of an investigation by the Sheriff's Department and

Kentucky State Police, after fire officials determined that a December 21

mobile home fire was suspicious.

Fire Chief Steve Ferrell said that his department responded to the scene

of the fire at 11:21 p.m. December 21. He said the mobile home, which

belonged to Eric Kendrick and was rented out, was not occupied at the time.

The local fire department was on the scene until approximately 1:46 a.m.,

according to Ferrell. Ferrell said the trailer was located in an area where

there were several rental properties and the fire was apparently reported by

a neighbor.

The Kentucky State Police arson investigator visited the fire scene on

Thursday, December 22 and worked in cooperation with the Wayne County

Sheriff's Department on the investigation.

Keeley was lodged in the local Detention Center.
