NILA BARNES GEHRING Jan. 7, 1919-Jan. 1, 2006 Nila Barnes Gehring, age 86, of Monticello, Ky. passed away Sunday, January 1, 2006 at Golden Years Nursing Home, in Monticello, Ky. She was born January 7, 1919 in Jamestown, Tenn., the daughter of Jacob F. Smith and Catherine Byrd Smith, who preceded her in death. She married Arvil Barnes who is deceased, then married Homer Gehring, who is also deceased. She is survived by one son-Melvin Barnes of Monticello, Ky.; two daughters-Deborah Zimmerman of Monticello, Ky., and Nancy Hatmaker of Pioneer, Tenn.; four grandchildren, two step grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Chris Galloway officiating. Burial was in Parmley's Grove Cemetery. Marvin S.
