Two candidates file for political offices
Melodie Phelps
News Editor

The filing deadline for local races in the primary election ballot is

less than a week away, and so far there are 60 candidates on the slate for

2006.

Two more candidates have filed in the past week. Larry Muse, a

republican, filed as a candidate for District Three Magistrate.

Gregory A. West, a republican, has filed as a candidate for Property

Valuation Administrator.

Candidates have until Tuesday, January 31 at 4 p.m. to file for local

office. Papers must be filed with the County Court Clerk. After the filing

deadline has passed, The Wayne County Outlook will publish a complete list

of candidates for each office.

State Representative Ken Upchurch, a republican, has filed to retain his

52nd District legislative seat.

At press time, he was the only candidate who had filed for that office.
