Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run set for May 27

The Monticello Police Department will hold the 5th Annual Law

Enforcement Torch Run on May 27. The run will begin at the Nazarene

Church

and travel through downtown Monticello before concluding at South Creek

Medical Center.

When runners reach the Monticello Fire Department, which is the

halfway

point of the route, they will meet with Special Olympics athletes and

light

the torch of hope. In the past four years, the Monticello Police

Department

has raised more than $15,000 for Special Olympics which goes directly

to

support the athletes.

Everyone is encouraged to buy a shirt and come out and support the

runners for this year's Law Enforcement Torch Run.
