Concert, picnic planned to honor National Guard unit The Wayne County Disabled American Veterans and the Monticello-Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a concert and picnic in honor of the heroes of the local National Guard unit. It is set for Saturday, June 3 at the National Guard Armory. There will be free music, food and drinks for everyone. Among those performing will be Country Connection, The Traditionals, Ben West, JROTC and others. Also, Z-93 will be broadcasting live from the National Guard Armory. The music will begin at 11 a.m. and lunch will begin at noon. Bring lawn chairs and come and spend the day. Everyone is encouraged to come and show their support for our hometown heroes.
