Ohio man is hospitalized after houseboat fire
An Ohio man was hospitalized Wednesday, July 28, after a fire on his houseboat. According to the local 911 dispatch center, the fire on the houseboat, which was in the area of New Fall Creek, was reported at 12:24 p.m.
The Monticello Fire Department, the Wayne County Rescue Squad, and the Department of Fish and Wildlife responded to the scene. The man was apparently transported to Conley Bottom by boat and then taken to the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for treatment.
