A local woman died from injuries she sustained in a one-vehicle accident Thursday, August 12.
Amanda Slaven Rose, 22, died at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, where she was flown for treatment following the crash, which occurred on KY 92 at approximately 2:45 p.m.
Rose was a passenger in a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Eric Dolen of Monticello. According to Deputy Terry Davis, the vehicle was traveling east on KY 92 when it left the roadway and struck a tree. He said the vehicle impacted on the passenger side.
Davis said Rose suffered head and chest injuries. She was transported to Wayne County Hospital by Wayne County EMS and then airlifted by Air Evac to the Lexington hospital, where she died later.
Dolen refused treatment at the scene. He was taken to the local hospital for a blood test by Davis.
According to Davis, a blood test is a standard procedure for the driver in an accident that involves injury.
Davis said those tests have been forwarded to the Kentucky State Police lab and further charges could be pending. Dolen was issued a citation for no insurance and expired registration receipt.
