It's an opportunity to step back in time and learn more about the
history of this area Saturday, September 2 at the annual Heritage
Festival, held at historic Mill Springs.
The festival will be held on the grounds of the Brown-Lanier House
and will include tours of historical homes, a corn meal grinding
exhibition at the mill, as well as demonstrations of traditional
farming, cooking and other heritage skills. The event is sponsored by
the Wayne County Historical Society and the Mill Springs Battlefield
Association.
The day will begin with the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast at 8 a.m.
The festival itself will begin at 10 a.m. and will continue until 5 p.m.
Vendors will be set up throughout the day, and there will be many
arts and crafts booths to browse through. There will also be festival
foods available to purchase.
Musical entertainment is scheduled throughout the day. Tours of the
Brown-Lanier House and the nearby West-Metcalfe House will be
available. The Mill Springs Gift Shop, which is located in the park,
will also be open for visitors.

Admission and parking for the festival are free.
