Two individuals were arrested following the execution of a search

warrant at a local residence. According to a press release from the

Monticello Police Department, a search warrant was executed at a residence

on Lincoln Avenue at 10 p.m. Monday, June 23.

Anthony Thomas Kennedy, 23, of Detroit, Mich. was charged with

trafficking in a controlled substance first degree. Jerel J. Jenkins, 38, of

Beachwood, Ohio was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance first

degree and with tampering with physical evidence. Both Kennedy and Jenkins

were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

In addition to the two arrests, a quantity of drugs and money was

seized, according to the press release.

The search warrant was the result of a joint investigation by the

Monticello Police Department, Operation U.N.I.T.E., The Lake Cumberland Area

Drug Task Force and the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office. The Wayne County

Sheriff's Office and the Kentucky State Police assisted in the execution of

the search warrant. The investigation is continuing.
