9-12-12 — The Third Thursday Downtown on the Square Summer Concert series continues on Thursday, September 20 at 7:30 p.m. with Klassyc Tymes Band.
The concert series is sponsored by South Kentucky RECC in
partnership with the City of Monticello and the Wayne County Fiscal Court. The series features different genres of music and bands from May through September, promoting family fun in downtown Monticello.
"Concessions will be available, as well as our Third Thursday t-
shirts and we encourage everyone in the family that can to come out and enjoy a fun night of music with Klassyc Tymes. Bring a lawn chair and be prepared to enjoy a great time with friends and family. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we'll have a big crowd out. This is their first concert locally in over a year and I know they are extremely popular, plus we are starting 30-minutes earlier to better accommodate families with school age children," saidEvent Committee chair Shannon Hutchinson.
Covering the best of classic rock, R&B, beach music, Motown and blues, KTB has been rocking audiences at corporate parties, weddings, private parties and night clubs in the Southeast for 10 years.
The band is most known for great vocals, perfect harmonies, top
musicians and the ability to keep crowds of all ages on the dance floor all night long. These guys are just plain fun to be around and their love for each other and this music always makes way to those in attendance.
They look, act and perform like professionals and will turn any event into a memorable occasion. KTB made a vow many years ago to always put forth their best performance no matter how large or small the event.
KTB members include: Kenny "Pretty Boy" Owens-lead vocals; Phil "Six Percent" Malicote-bass guitar; Billy "Clyde" Lovern-lead guitar; Gerald "No Respect" Haile-keys; Larry "The Professor" Nelson-sax; Dwight "3D" Dunlap" drums; Kevin "Checkbook" Hart-vocals/percussion; Rick "RAKAKAR" Carroll-sound/lights; and Robert "Chicken" Brashear-bus driver. "Our Third Thursday concert series feedback has been tremendous and I think it's safe to say we'll certainly have the event again in 2013. We hope to finish with our biggest crowd of the series, which will be a great kickoff to our Downtown FallFest scheduled for October 26 and 27," said Hutchinson.
The concert, sponsored by Wayne Furniture Company, will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will last for two hours. It is free to all ages.
