Wayne County Outlook
Monticello — Three people were injured in a two-car collision that occurred in the
Frazer community on Sunday, February 15.
According to Wayne County Deputy Ronnie Ellis, two women involved in
the crash were airlifted to another hospital for treatment of injuries.
Carolyn Carrender, 41, of Monticello, was flown from the scene of the
crash, at the intersection of KY 1568 (also known as Strawberry Road) and KY
90, to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was in the ICU on
Monday morning, listed in critical but stable condition.
Rose Greer, of McMinnville, Tennessee, was flown from the Wayne County
Hospital to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment of
injuries. Her condition was not available at press time.
Robert Greer, also of McMinnville, Tennessee, was taken to the local
hospital, following the collision.
Ellis said that Carrender was operating a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire on KY
1568. He said that Carrender was crossing KY 90 when she pulled into the
path of a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville, operated by Robert Greer. The Pontiac was
traveling west on KY 90.
The accident occurred at 11:55 a.m. Sunday. Ellis said that traffic flow
was not a serious problem in that area, and he commended the Monticello Fire
Department for their hard work at the scene to keep traffic moving on KY 90.
Also assisting at the scene was the Kentucky Department of Fish and
Wildlife and the Wayne County EMS.
