Local man injured in shooting incident

Monticello — A Wayne County man was injured in a shooting incident that occurred

Saturday night at a residence on the Norman Spradlin Road.

According to Kentucky State Police, Stephen Spradlin, 43, sustained a

gunshot wound during an altercation with his father, Norman R. Spradlin, 63.

The incident was reported at 8:39 p.m. Saturday, according to Trooper

Shaler Jones who is heading up the investigation.

Stephen Spradlin was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center

in Lexington for treatment.

Jones said that no arrests have been made at this time, pending the

completion of the investigation and presentation to the grand jury.

Jones was assisted by other officers from Kentucky State Police, the

Wayne County Sheriff's Department and Operation UNITE.
