Monticello — The Wayne County Wrestling team traveled to Whitesburg on Saturday,

January 16 to compete in the Regional Dual tournament at Letcher County

Central.

The Mat Cardinals finished as the Region 8 Dual Runner-up. The team

finished with 4 wins and 1 loss. They lost to Johnson Central 37-36 in the

finals. The top two teams advance to the State Dual Championship in

Lexington on Saturday, January 30.

The top 16 teams in the state will compete for the state dual

championship on the January 30.
