8-4-10 — The University of the Cumberlands Women's Soccer program hosted its annual Team Camp recently on the campus of the University of the Cumberlands.
Four teams hailing from Kentucky and Tennessee hosted this year's camp and were thoroughly challenged throughout the week by the camp staff as well as their respective coaches.
The teams that participated in this year's camp were: Wayne County High School and East Carter High School from Kentucky, and Anderson County High School and Morristown East High School from Tennessee.
During the morning sessions, the teams were instructed on fundamentals as they worked on passing, dribbling, shooting, and situational drills. During the evening, the teams were able to have scrimmage games against one another in order to help use the skills they worked on previously throughout the day.
Head Coach Russell Stewart commented, "I thought the camp this week was a huge success. The coaching staff did a fantastic job this week with the teams and this is a great experience for these young ladies. All of these ladies will be able to take what they learned this week and apply it to their upcoming season as well as into the future. "
