BETTY HOPPER STOKES

Betty Hopper Stokes, age 80, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2009

at the Hicks Golden Years Nursing Home.

She was born September 13, 1928 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of the

late J.B. and Lelia Bell Hopper.

She is survived by her two children-Joel Lewis Stokes III and (Linda) of

Sparks, Nev. and Joyce Lee Lewis of Middletown, Ohio; siblings-Norman

(Carolyn) Hopper, Frank (Anita) Hopper, Joann Hopper Burton, all of

Monticello, Ky., and Billy (Vicky) Hopper of Richmond; three

grandchildren-David Joel Lewis, Shelly Anne (Tom) Haas, Allison Stokes

(David) Clark; two great-grandchildren-Josephine and Grace Clark; several

nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

She is preceded in death by a sister-Irene Hopper Horton; and a

granddaughter-Hilary Stokes.

Betty was a dedicated homemaker and gardener who found lasting

friendships at Golden Years Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 16, 2009 in the funeral home

chapel. Burial followed in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

Baptist Church, P.O. Box 977, Monticello, Ky. 42633.
