    Wendell L. "Lee" Ramsey,  age 56, of Columbus, Ind., passed from this life at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

    Born in Seymour on May 12, 1956, he was the son of the late Wendell H.

and Faye J. Miller Ramsey. He married Melanie J. Ruse Davis October 8, 1982.

    He  had been a landscaper and he retired from Columbus Parks & Recreation Department after 19 years of service. After retirement, He worked in sporting goods and lawn and garden at Wal-Mart.

    He enjoyed membership at Dove Ministries, American Bowling Association and American Wildlife.

    He loved his flower garden and he enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and golf.

    Survivors include his wife; daughter‹Heather (Matthew) Dettmer, of Columbus, Ind.; twin daughters­Whitney (Thomas) Morrison II, of North Vernon, Ind. and Courtney (David) Barnhill, of Columbus, Ind.; daughter‹ Wendelyn Ramsey, of Columbus, Ind.; six granddaughters; five grandsons; sisters‹Ruby Key, of Monticello, Ky., Roxie Griffith, of Columbus, Ind. and Joyce (Johnnie) Rutan, of Elizabethtown, Ind.; a brother‹Arthur (Irma) Ramsey, of Columbus, Ind.; brother and sister-in-law‹Kevin and Nancy Groover, of Columbus, Ind.; a special friend‹his dog Taffey; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives.

    Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Newlin officiating.

    In keeping with Mr. Ramsey's wishes, cremation will take place following the service.
