9-25-13 — A Fall Car Show and Shine is set for Sunday, October 6 from 1 until 4:30 p.m. at Memorial Park.
Vendors are welcome to participate, and organizers are hoping everyone will take the opportunity to come out and enjoy the afternoon.
"We were excited with the response we received from the car shows with our 3rd Thursdays and wanted to try a stand alone event at Memorial Park," said Events Committee chairman Shannon Hutchinson. "Don Franklin has stepped up as our primary sponsor and we're extremely thankful for that. We think our car show and shine will be a lot of fun."
The first 100 classic car and truck participants will receive a tee-shirt.
"We have door prizes and we will be giving them away throughout the show," said Hutchinson. "The event is going to end with a police escort and a cruise out of the park."
If all goes well, Hutchinson said the committee hopes to put on another car show in the spring.
"It has been several years since we've had a stand alone car show, so hopefully everyone will come out for a fun afternoon of fellowship and classic cars," said Hutchinson. "Concessions will also be provided, so come out, enjoy lunch and a beautiful afternoon at Memorial Park."
Booths are available for vendors at a cost of only $20. No electric is available.
Admission to the car show is free. Anyone who would like more information should call (606) 348-4241.
