    Charles M. Shoemaker, Jr., age 83 of Monticello, Ky. passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the Wayne County Hospital.

    He was born on February 7, 1928 in Monticello, Ky., the son of the late Charles and Eva (Humble) Shoemaker, Sr.

    He was united in marriage to Mary Duncan, who preceded him in death.

    He later married Lois Sexton, who survives him in death.

    He is survived by one son-Robert (Sharon) Shoemaker, of Richmond, Ky.; three daughters-Barbara (Jeffrey) Barnett, of Monticello, Ky., Rebecca Harness, of Lancaster, Ky. and Annie (Barry) Cooper, of Monticello, Ky.; two step-sons-David Edward, of Greenfield, Ind. and George Sigler, of Mercer County, Ky.; two step-daughters-Debbie Walton, of Greenfield, Ind. and Rhonda Batchie, of Lancaster, Ky.; one brother-James Shoemaker; two sisters-Flora Bryant and Laura Bridgeman; six grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Daniel Richardson and Bro. Jerry Browning officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

    A full military honor was performed by DAV Chapter 105.

    In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Faith United Baptist Church.
