Daylight Savings Time begins this Sunday
It's time to "spring forward" into Daylight Savings Time, which
officially begins early on Sunday, March 8.
Readers are reminded to set your clocks ahead by one hour before
going to bed on Saturday, March 7.
Chamber of Commerce planning for banquet
The Monticello-Wayne County Chamber of Commerce continues to make
plans for its banquet and awards night, which is set for April 23 at
the ASPIRE Center. Awards will be presented to five different
businesses, community leaders, or educators.
Nomination forms for the awards are available and are due back to
the Chamber office by Monday, March 15. Nominations will be reviewed
by the board and winners will be selected for each category.
Tickets are also currently available for the banquet, which will
feature Ashli Watts, President of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce,
as the guest speaker. For more information or for tickets, call the

Event set at Wayne Theatre is March 10
A special program, "Healing Our Community," will be held on Tuesday,
March 10 beginning at 6 p.m. at the historic Wayne Theatre in
downtown Monticello. The event is sponsored by the Lake Cumberland
District Health Department and it is free to attend.
Come early at 5 p.m. for a meal with resource networking at the
Restoration House, which is located near the theatre. For more

Republican Party mass meeting is March 21
The Wayne County Republican Party's mass countywide meeting is
scheduled for Saturday, March 21 at 10 a.m. at Happy Hoppers. All
registered republicans are invited to attend for the purpose of
choosing delegates and alternates for the district and state conventions.
