6-2-10 —     Filing for non-partisan races that will appear on the November general

election is underway. Just after last week's primary election was completed,

two candidates filed in city races.

    Monticello Mayor Kenneth Catron will seek re-election to the office.

    Dallas Hoskins has filed as a candidate for Monticello City Council. All

six city council seats will be on the ballot in the fall, as well as the

mayor's race.

    There will also be several school board seats on the ballot, including

races in the Monticello School District and the Wayne County School

District.

    The deadline to file for any of these races will be Tuesday, August 10

at 4 p.m., according to Wayne County Clerk Josephine Gregory.
