10-13-10 — Board members for the Monticello Utility Commission met for their regular monthly meeting last Thursday, October 7.
During the meeting, the board voted to purchase a new four-wheel drive truck to be used by the meter readers. The four-wheel drive will replace the two-wheel drive truck that is currently being used by utility commission meter readers. The new four-wheel drive truck will make it easier for meter readers who travel on the county roads during winter months.
In other action, the board:
• voted to purchase 10 new cell phones and extend their contract with AT&T.
• was informed that utility commission employees planned to start putting one of the new chlorine booster systems together this week. The board voted to purchase the new systems at a previous meeting.
