8-18-10 — State Auditor Crit Luallen released the audit report for Wayne County Clerk Josephine Gregory, for the period of October 21 through December 31, 2009.
Gregory was appointed to serve as clerk following the resignation of former County Clerk Melissa Turpin.
The audit found that the clerk's financial statement presents fairly the revenues, expenditures and excess fees of the Wayne County Clerk in conformity with the regulatory basis of accounting.
The auditor noted no instances of non-compliance.
The auditor also noted no matters involving internal control over financial reporting and its operation that were considered material weakness.
For that period of time, revenues totaled $467,048 and expenditures totaled $40,879, which resulted in excess fees of $26,169.
The excess fees had been turned over to the fiscal court in February, after magistrates approved the report presented by Gregory.
