10-20-10 — A Wayne County man died early Sunday morning, as the result of a one-vehicle accident in the Dry Hollow community.
According to Coroner Forrest Hicks, Brian Wayne Dishman, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 3:30 a.m.
Dishman was apparently the driver of a pickup truck when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a nearby tree.
Hicks said he suffered massive head trauma as a result of the collision.
Access to the accident site was difficult, since it occurred in a remote area with rough terrain. Hicks said that four-wheel drive vehicles from the Susie Fire Department and the Wayne County EMS 6x6
transport vehicle transported paramedics, sheriff's deputies, fire personnel and officials with the Coroner's Office to the accident scene.
The Coroner's Office was notified at approximately 12:55 a.m. Hicks was assisted at the scene by Deputy Coroner Anthony Vaughn.
Dishman is survived by his fiancee, Bobbie Hicks, his daughter, Jacklynn Dishman, and his mother, Elaine Hicks.
Services were scheduled for Wednesday, October 27 at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.
