Monticello — Few details were available at press time, but one person was apparently

injured on Monday morning in a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of

a local houseboat manufacturer.

Officials confirmed that the incident occurred at approximately 11:02

a.m. in the parking lot of Lakeview Yachts. Wayne County Sheriff Charles

Boston said that witnesses indicated that one shot was fired and one

individual sustained an injury.

The name of the person who was shot had not been released Monday

afternoon. Boston said his department secured the scene of the incident and

then turned the investigation over to Ken-tucky State Police Detective Doug

Boyd.

Boston confirmed on Monday afternoon that no one had been arrested yet,

but he expected charges to be filed.

The Monticello Police Department, the Wayne County Sheriff's Department

and Kentucky State Police all responded to the scene.

The victim was transported by private vehicle to the Monticello Police

De-partment, then Wayne County EMS transported the victim to the Wayne

County Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the leg.
