10-6-10 — Sept. 11, 1937-Sept. 20, 2010

    Gladys Phillips, age 73, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at Britthaven Nursing Facility in Somerset, Ky.

    She was born September 11, 1937 in Wayne County to the late Ewell and Lillie Kidd Bell.

    Also preceding her in death are her sisters-Evalee Spradlin, Vena Gregory and a sister Alpha Spradlin who passed away the following day after Mrs. Phillips, her brother-Hershel, Nobel, Reynold, Gene, Garmon and Ralph Bell.  Surviving are many nieces and nephews to mourn her passing.

    She started working at Monticello Manufacturing at age eighteen as a seamstress and retired following over forty years there.

    The funeral service was held Thursday morning in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Dewey Burks officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.
