10-6-10 — July 10,1935-Sept. 31, 2010

    Allen G. Blevins, age 75, was born in the Parnell community of Wayne County, July 10, 1935 the son of the late Will and Victoria Miller Blevins.

He departed this life Thursday at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

    On May 18, 2003 he united in marriage with Mary Alta Parmley Blevins who survives. He is survived by his son-Russell Blevins of Covington, Ky. and a

grandson- Nathan Blevins.

    Also surviving are his three brothers-Earl Blevins of Batavia, Ohio, Coy of Mason, Ohio and William Blevins of Monticello; step children-Kimberly Silvers, Paul and Dwayne Tucker all of Monticello and Scottie Cooper of Mason, Ohio; five step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.

    He is preceded in death by his only sister-Bonnie Smith; and brothers-Walter, Howard, Gains, Clinton ³Jake² and Fount Blevins.

    He served his country with honor in the United States Army and was retired from the Ford Motor Company where he proudly served as Chairman of UAW 863 in Sharonville, Ohio.  He loved horseback riding and was a member of the Wayne County Saddle Club.

    The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

Military honors were performed by Wayne County Chapter of the DAV#105

    Hickey and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
