    Bruce Hoit Bertram, age 77, was born in the Sumpter community of Wayne County, March 1, 1936 the son of the late Claude and Perna Elam Bertram.  He departed this life, Sunday morning, April 28, 2013 at his home.

        On April 4, 1964 he united in marriage with, Norma Lois Morgan Bertram who survives. To this union four children survive‹Sandra Taylor, Barbara and her husband, Frank Nixon, Carla Lowry and Brandon Bertram.

    Also surviving are five grandchildren‹Tara Young, Dylan Taylor, Corbin Nixon, Logan Nixon, Tyler Lowry; and a great granddaughter‹Dazlan Young; and his sister‹Theresa and her husband Gale Hicks.

    He is preceded in death by his siblings‹Christine Jenkins and an infant brother, Avery Bertram.

    He was retired from Monticello Hardwood where he worked as a sawyer and was a member of the Mossy Gap Baptist Church in Whitley County.

    Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 1, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Bob Duranceau and Bro. Keith McKim officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
