5-25-10 — Aug. 30, 1927-May, 17, 2010

    Hershel G. Bell, age 82,  was born August 30, 1927 in the Bethesda community of Wayne County the son of the late Emerson and Lissie Stockton Bell. He departed this life Monday, May 17, 2010 at St. Joseph East in Lexington.

    On August 27, 1948 he united in marriage with Mildred Maxine Price Bell who passed away October 30, 1997. To this 49 year union three daughters survive; Patsy Sexton, Barbra Brown and Pamela Gregory all of Monticello.

    Also surviving are seven grandchildren-Jennifer, Cindy, Ronald, Amy, Jeremy, Emily and Jacob; six great-grandchildren-Jesse, Charity, Samantha, Hayden, Jaxon and Grayson; one sister-Nannie McCutchen.

    In February of 2000 he united in marriage with Emogene Holt Bell who preceded him in death, January 5, 2003.

    He is also preceded in death by his siblings-Sally Coffey, Elsie Davis, Dorothy Neal, Marie Davis, Frank, Fred, Earl and Clarence Bell.

    He was a retired trucker, retired from the Kentucky National Guard and was a member of the Steubenville Baptist Church.

    The funeral service was held Thursday afternoon in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Danny Bell and Bro. Phillip Drake officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Military Honors were given by the Monticello Chapter of the DAV.
