5-25-10 — Sep. 24, 1925-May 17, 2010
Frieda Lorene Hill Rickett was born on September 25, 1924 to Charley Malone Hill and Lillian Smith Hill at Watt's Creek Kentucky. She departed this life and frail body on May 17, 2010 for a far better life for which she was well prepared.
In addition to her parents who both preceded her in death, her deceased siblings are brother-Noel Hill; half-brother-Harold Hill; sister-Pearl Hill Willis; sister-Martha Charlene Hill Robinson.
She is survived by her sister-Elsie Lee Hill; husband-John Andrew Rickett; her four children-Cassandra Hurst, Jerry Rickett, Rebecca Reidelbach, John David Rickett.
Also surviving are her eight grandchildren-Kimberly Spann Moore, Becky Reidelbach, Shannon Rickett, Michael Reidelbach, Jennifer Reidelbach, Todd Rickett, Andrew Rickett, Keri Rickett; three great-grandchildren-Gabriel Moore, Audrey Moore, Jonathan Moore.
She was raised on a farm near Williamsburg Ky. by one of the hard working families who built this nation. From a young age, and throughout her entire life, she herself, worked hard on a daily basis, to meet the needs of her family and friends.
Never given to idleness at any point in her life, she personified the virtuous woman described in the 31 chapter of Proverbs. She preserved herself pure unto marriage and remained faithful by all accounts to her husband of near 64 years, who once described her as the most unselfish person he knew. He could safely trust in her to preserve the family honor no matter how long he was called away. With the fruit of her hands she planted many gardens and toiled in the heat of the day.
She laid her hands to the spindle to make clothes and many blankets for her children and grandchildren to brace against the cold. She shared in this activity with those in the Homemaker's Club and Quilt Guild and many other respectable neighborhood organizations.
Pious in faith and zealous for the Lord her entire life from her earliest days. Always ready to admonish another with a meek and quiet spirit with both words and deeds.
Her children call her blessed.
The funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon in the funeral home chapel with Dennis Walker and Louis Cook officiating, burial was in the Hofford Cemetery in Williamsburg.
