    William Dotye, age 68, of Monticello, Ky., passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehab in Somerset, Ky. He was born on January 31, 1943 in Danville, Ky. to the late Leroy Dotye and Viola Logan Faulkner. He was married to Marjorie Garth.

    He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and worked as a farm hand.

    He also was a U.S. Marine.

    He is survived by his son-Lamont (Renee) Garth, of Monticello, Ky.; and grandchildren-Jakaye Garth, Isahia Garth, Olivia Garth and Lederius Garth.

He is also survived by his sisters-Lillette Burgess, of Danville, Ky. and Barbara Wilkerson, of Lexington, Ky.; and aunts-Eustatia Johnson and Effie Burton, both of Danville, Ky. and Rosemary Johnson, of Lexington, Ky.

    He was preceded in death by a brother-Lawrence Faulkner; and sister-Margaret Faulkner.

    A memorial service was  held Friday, September 9, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant View Baptist Church.
