    Funeral Services for Marie Shearer, age 89, of Jeffersonville, was held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Scott Funeral Homes North Chapel, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. She passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Clark Memorial Hospital.

    Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a native of Monticello, Ky. before living in Louisville and then in Jeffersonville. She retired from Taylor Drugs and Woodmen¹s Dress Shop after working there for many years. Marie was a member of Taylor Boulevard Church of Christ in Louisville before moving to Northside Church of Christ in Jeffersonville. She was a member of the Prime Timers and active in the Food Program at Northside. She also enjoyed needlework, crocheting and quilting.

    She is survived by her children-Rose McCain (Bill), of Jeffersonville, and Frank Shearer, of Madison, Ala.; sister-Minnie Jones; four grandchildren-Jeff McCain (Karen), Henryville, Elaina Marshall (John), Nashville, Tenn., Sue Ann Harlow (David), Jeffersonville, and Monte Shearer, Huntsville, Ala.; eight great-grandchildren-Lori McCormick, Brooke Harlow, Crystal Anderson, Brandon Forbes, Camden Marshall, Sydney Marshall, Erin Marshall and Elijah Marshall; three great-great-grandchildren-Keaton McCormick, Layla McCormick and Chloe Day.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bruce Shearer; and parents, Elijah Koger and Polly Gregory.

    Contributions may be made to Northside Church of Christ for use in the Pre-School and Early Elementary Bible Classes.
