LILLY MAE KOGER MITCHELL

Jan. 21, 1914-Nov. 2, 2009

Lilly Mae Koger Mitchell, age 95 and 10 months, passed away Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Somerset Nursing and Rehabilition Center.

She was born on January 21, 1914, in the Parmleysville community in Wayne County, the daughter of the late George and Florence Gregory Koger.

On September 23, 1938, she was united in marriage with William Luther Mitchell until his passing on January 18, 2000.

To this 61 year union, two daughters survive-Judy and (husband-Coy) Dunnington of Somerset, Peggy (husband-Don) Lankford of Ft. Myers, Fla.; six grandchildren-Gene Gregory (wife-Veronica), Allison Murray (husband-David), Carol Helton, Mitchell Taylor, Ashley Lintott (husband-Joe), and Michelle Fleig; seven great-grandchildren-Austin, Haden and Aaron Gregory, Jared Murray, Sarah and Noah Helton, Aidan Lintott; and sister-Venus Griffen; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter-Kathy Gregory; one great-grandson-Shea Lintott; and one brother-Herbert Koger.

Lilly accepted Christ as her Savior as a young lady and was a member of the Monticello First Baptist Church at the time of her passing.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 7, 2009 in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed at Elk Spring Cemetery.

Expression of sympathy may take the form of donations to the First Baptist Church of Monticello or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
