A local man was injured and another arrested following a shooting incident that occurred on Thursday, November 15 on Ramsey Street.

According to the Monticello Police Department, Derrik Adam Wray, 22, was shot in the leg with a .38 caliber revolver during the incident, which occurred at approximately 7:05 p.m. Thursday.

Wray was taken to the Wayne County Hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Lexington for treatment.

Randall E. Dishman, 51, of Monticello, was arrested and charged with first degree assault. Dishman was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

He was later released on a $20,000 property bond. Dishman will be arraigned in Wayne District Court on November 28.

The police department was assisted at the scene by the Wayne County Sheriff's Department and Wayne County EMS.

The investigation is continuing.
