According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron, his office has
arrested and charged a Wayne County man on multiple charges including
trafficking in a controlled substance.
Deputies Derek Den-nis and Brent Rose conducted a traffic stop on KY
90 on a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Justin Fairchild for a
Upon initial contact with the driver, Dennis observed a clear
plastic baggie containing a crystal-like substance consistent with
containing meth-amphetamine. As Fairchild was being arrested, he
began resisting arrest and began fighting with Dennis and Deputy
Jacob Vanover, who had arrived at the scene to assist.
After being placed under arrest a search of the vehicle was
conducted with over 103 grams of methamphetamine, one ounce of
marijuana, four hydrocodone tablets, several clear plastic baggies, a
police scanner and $209 in cash was located and seized.
Fairchild was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled
substance first degree (greater than 2 grams of methamphetamine),
trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces) second offense, two
counts of assault third degree (on police officer or probation
officer), possession of a controlled substance first degree (drug
unspecified), possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest,
tampering with physical evidence and for traffic violations.
Fairchild was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
