A local man died on Sunday, October 13, following a single vehicle accident on KY 1275 North.   According to information released by Kentucky State Police, Michael Bridgeman, 45, of Monticello, was pronounced dead at the Wayne County Hospital at approximately 5:34 p.m.

    The initial investigation indicated that a 2003 Jeep Liberty, 
operated by Bridgeman, was traveling north on KY 1275 North.
    Bridgeman apparently lost control of his vehicle and drove off the 
roadway, hitting a dirt embankment and flipping the Jeep.
    Bridgeman was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to the 
local hospital by Wayne County EMS with life-threatening injuries.
    The accident occurred at approximately 4:38 p.m.
    Police said no autopsy has been scheduled.
    They also stated that no drugs or alcohol usage is suspected in the 
accident.
    Bridgeman was not wearing his safety belt.
    The investigation is continuing and is being conducted by Kentucky 
State Police Trooper Matthew Parmley.
    He was assisted at the scene by Post 11 personnel, the Wayne County 

Sheriff's Office, Wayne County EMS and the Monticello Fire Department.
