A local man was transported to a Lexington hospital on Thursday, 
March 26, following a one-vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 167.
    According to Wayne County Sheriff  Tim Catron, the accident occurred 
at approximately 10:24 a.m. Deputy Jerry Meadows responded to the 
scene and found the vehicle had been traveling north on Highway 167 
when the driver lost control after exiting a curve.
    The vehicle then rolled over into a ditch, and the driver was 
ejected. The driver was able to climb back inside the vehicle by 
himself before first responders arrived at the scene.
    The driver of the vehicle was transported to the Wayne County 
Hospital by EMS. He was later flown to the University of Kentucky by 
PHI.
    Meadows was assisted at the scene by the Monticello Fire Depart-
ment. The investigation is continuing.
